CMC© Designation Process

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the CMC designation, candidates must meet specific criteria that
reflect their experience and commitment to the consulting profession:

Experience
At least three years of full-time management consulting practice, ensuring
candidates have practical, hands-on experience.

Education

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, providing a foundational
understanding of business principles.

References

Provide at least two client references who can attest to the candidate’s consulting
effectiveness and ethical standards.

Engagement Summaries
Submission of three detailed summaries of consulting engagements demonstrating
competence in key consulting areas.

Oral Assessment Process

1- Validation of Client References
Assessors will contact client references to confirm the candidate’s consulting
effectiveness.

2- Interview
Two CMC-grade assessors will conduct an interview to evaluate the candidate’s
competence in relation to the competency framework and engagement summaries
using real-world scenarios and case studies..

3- Additional Documentation
Candidates may be required to provide further proof of specific competencies if
deemed necessary.

Awarding of the CMC© Designation

Upon successfully passing the oral assessment, the Chair of the Certification
Committee will send a confirmation email congratulating the candidate.
The GI Secretariat will issue the official CMC credentials, allowing the candidate
to publicly use the CMC designation in their professional branding.
